Received a notice from DMCA Agency Deutschland?
This page is for the other side of the matter. Use it to check whether a message really came from this agency, to ask for confirmation of our authority to act, to report a mistaken identification, or to have a factual error corrected.
First: is the message genuine?
Copyright notices are used as a pretext for fraud. Check where the message came from before you do anything else with it.
- Brand
- DMCA Agency Deutschland
- Short name
- DMCA Agency
- Official domain
dmcaagency.de- Copyright
copyright@dmcaagency.de- Verification
verification@dmcaagency.de- Role
- Authorised representative
Register details will be published once incorporation is complete and documented. Until then this site carries no commercial-register, VAT or representation details at all.
What a genuine message looks like
- The sender address ends in
@dmcaagency.de. - It names one specific protected work and one specific reported location — not "your content" in general.
- It states that this agency acts as authorised representative, and names the rightsholder.
- It carries a case or notice reference in the documented format.
- It points at the recipient’s own official reporting route and at this site.
What does not come from us
- A demand for payment, a settlement figure, or a deadline to transfer money.
- A message from a freemail address or from a lookalike domain.
- An attachment you have to open in order to find out what the matter is.
- A link to a sign-in form asking for your platform credentials.
- Any claim that this agency is a public authority, a court or a platform operator.
If in doubt, forward it — do not reply to it
Send the message in full, with headers, to verification@dmcaagency.de. We will confirm or deny that it came from us. Replying to a forged message only tells the sender that your address is read.
Four requests, four routes
Each goes to a mailbox that is read. Please pick the right one — it decides who handles the matter.
Request 1
Report a mistaken identification
You are not the person or organisation the notice is about, or the reported content does not belong to your account. Give the reference and say where the mix-up is. The matter is paused before anything else happens.
copyright@dmcaagency.deRequest 2
Ask for a correction review
Something in the notice is factually wrong: the URL, the named work, the time range, the mapping. Describe the error as precisely as you can. What happens next is set out in the correction and retraction policy.
copyright@dmcaagency.deRequest 3
Verify the authority to act
You are a platform, host or recipient and want the representative authority confirmed before you decide. That is the normal case and is treated as one.
verification@dmcaagency.deRequest 4
Report impersonation
You received a message claiming to be from this agency that does not match the marks above. Forward it with full headers — including when you are not sure.
security@dmcaagency.de
What your message should contain
The more precise these are, the faster the matter can be found — and the faster an error can be put right, if it is one.
- Reference
- The case, notice or authorisation reference from the message you received. Without it, matching takes considerably longer.
- Recipient and platform
- Where the notice arrived and over which reporting route.
- Reported address
- The specific URL at issue — not the account in general.
- Your request in one sentence
- Mistaken identification, factual error, verification enquiry, or suspected impersonation.
- Your role
- Affected person, account holder, platform, host or legal representative. All four are treated the same way.
Please do not send identity documents or contracts unprompted
They are not needed for the initial match. If a particular step requires evidence, we ask for it specifically and say what for. Documents sent unprompted are deleted once the matter is closed — see the privacy policy.
What happens after your message
The same sequence regardless of who writes in — and regardless of whether the point turns out to be well founded.
Received and matched
Your message is matched to the matter. You get an acknowledgement that it arrived.
Matter paused
While the point is open, no further notices go out on the same subject matter. That holds even where we think the point is unfounded.
Human review
A person looks at the work mapping, the reported location, the authorisation and your point, side by side. Nothing is decided automatically here.
Outcome and reply
Correction, retraction or maintenance — with reasons. Maintenance is given reasons too.
Recipient informed
Where the review leads to a correction or retraction, the recipient of the notice is informed, so far as its procedure provides for that.
Record kept
Trigger, review and outcome are documented on the matter. Including when the outcome is uncomfortable for us.
What this page does not do
- It does not replace the platform’s own counter-notification route. That route has its own rules and its own deadlines, and a message to us neither extends nor suspends either.
- It does not lead automatically to a retraction. An objection triggers a review, not an outcome. If the point is not borne out, the notice stands.
- It is not legal advice — neither for you nor against you. DMCA Agency Deutschland is not a law firm and does not represent you.
- It is not a channel for negotiating money. This agency demands no payment from the other side and accepts none.
- It does not set aside confidentiality towards clients. What can be disclosed is listed above; beyond that, nothing is released.
Independence
DMCA Agency Deutschland is an independent copyright-enforcement service provider. It has no connection to United States Copyright Office, YouTube, Google, Meta or TikTok, and no relationship with any public authority. Platform names are used solely to identify the services in question; no partnership or endorsement is implied.
